The light industry sector plays an important role in the economic development of Pridnestrovie. On the eve of the 50th anniversary of Tirotex Textile Company, we spoke with its General Director, Member of the Supreme Council of the PMR Andrey Mezhinsky, about the current state of the industry and the activities of the Republic’s flagship textile enterprise.

- Mr. Mezhinsky, the textile industry has faced numerous challenges in recent years. How is Tirotex coping with them?

- Indeed, the light industry sector has encountered a number of difficulties, including increasing competition from imported products. In addition, logistics have become more complicated, while the costs associated with the delivery of raw materials and spare parts have risen significantly. However, I would like to emphasize that no economic turbulence has altered our commitment to producing textile products of the highest quality. We continuously adapt to changing market conditions while preserving our competitive advantages. We carefully analyze customer needs and consistently improve our products to meet their expectations.

First, we have invested substantial resources in modernizing our equipment to manufacture high-quality textiles. This is evidenced by numerous quality awards and the international OEKO-TEX certification, which confirms the safety of our products for human health.

Second, we have enhanced production efficiency and optimized technological processes to reduce manufacturing costs.

Third, Tirotex places great importance on design and style. Our designers successfully develop unique and fashionable collections of bed linen and table linen. Every season, we present new products that delight our customers and partners.

- Tirotex has a rich and remarkable 50-year history. What plans and prospects does the company have for the future?

- Today, our team looks to the future with confidence and is already writing new chapters in the company`s history. We intend to maintain our leading position in the international textile market through continued innovation and the development of high-quality products. At the same time, we remain firmly committed to employee training and professional development. We believe that people—our employees—are the key resource behind our success. Therefore, we strive to create a supportive and motivating working environment where everyone can develop their skills and realize their potential.

- As a member of the Supreme Council Committee on Economic Policy, Budget and Finance, how would you assess the impact that Tirotex currently has on the development of the Republic?

- Beyond its most important contribution—stable budget revenues—Tirotex continues to play a significant role on several levels. First, the company creates jobs and provides stable income for several thousand employees. This helps stimulate the regional economy and maintain the quality of life of the people of Pridnestrovie. In addition, we actively cooperate with local educational institutions, offering students opportunities for internships and practical training at a textile enterprise equipped with one of the most advanced textile machinery fleets in Europe. This contributes not only to the development of education in the region but also to the training of highly qualified young specialists. We are proud to make a meaningful contribution to the development and prosperity of Pridnestrovie.
